TANJAK,tengkolok atau destar merupakan penutup kepala tradisonal lelaki Melayu yang berkait rapat dengan istana, kepahlawanan atau sinonim dengan adat istiadat bangsa Melayu.Lazimnya ketiga-tiga penutup kepala itu dipakai bersama baju melayu dan kain sampin,keris dan capal.

Pada zaman dahulu, tanjak,tengkolok atau destar dipakai oleh golongan berbeza-beza mengikut status meskipun fungsi utamanya menutup kepala untuk aspek keselamatan serta tampil kemas.Misalnya, golongan petani sentiasa memakai destar sewaktu bekerja kerana ingin melindungi diri daripada panas terik.

Segelintir pihak menyifatkan tanjak biasa digunakan oleh golongan berpangkat tinggi dan pertengahan seperti laksamana serta bendahara

Secara ringkasnya perbezaan antara tengkolok,destar dan setanjak ialah :
Tengkolok  : Lilitan meruncing ke atas, lilitan berlapis ( tebal ) kain bermutu.
Destar        : Lilitan rendah dan nipis.
Setanjak     : Lilitan macam tengkolok, tetapi lebih ringkas dan nipis. 

Rekaan setanjak biasanya berkait rapat dengan status sipemakai.Apa yang dipakai rakyat biasa berbentuk simpulan dan diubahsuai dari rekaan asal yang dipakai oleh raja.Rakyat tidak boleh pakai bentuk tanjak yang sama dengan bentuk tanjak raja atau sultan

Philea Resort and Spa, Melaka Receives The Green Hotel Award 2016

15^th August 2016, Melaka - Philea Resort and Spa, Melaka was recognized for its commitment to the environment, receiving the Green Award at the ‘Anugerah Hijau Negeri Melaka Tahun 2016’ for hotel category, awarded by the Chief Minister of Melaka YAB Datuk Seri Ir. Hj. Idris bin Hj. Haron. 

Receiving the trophy was the resort’s Executive Assistant Manager Connie Chin, awarded by the Chief Minister of Melaka

 

 

 

The prestigious award adds to a list of green accolades that includes the Best Green Hotel by the state of Melaka and Top-10 Eco-Friendly Hotels by Agoda.com, applauding the outstanding environment efforts by the resort.

The annual Green Award recognizes environmentally-conscious organizations that have shown excellence in green practices. The stringent judging criteria include energy and water efficiency, waste recycling, air quality management and environmental sustainability.

The green ambassadors are appointed within the resort to promote the benefits of going green, cultivate moral values among the associates, conduct Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, execute and disseminate information related to environment conservation and sustainability.

#MyMelakaEvent : MTA KAKI RACE 2016

Congratulations to Melaka Tourism Association (MTA) for the success of  'MTA Kaki Race 2016' competition held on August 7,2016  around the tourist attractions near Melaka Raya and Bandar Hilir. 

30 team with 150 participants aged 18 years and above  took part in this competition which required the team to walked 10 to 12 kilometres and pass through the check points with some 'fear factor' tasks. 

MTA Kaki Race 2016 is organized by MTA with collaborations from Tourism Melaka, Tourism Malaysia Melaka and Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia.
